The dilemma of the divorced painter.

Few legal cases have addressed the issue of how intellectual property rights should be dealt with when a couple separates. Our Court of Appeal has now provided useful guidance on whether copyright in an artist’s paintings is relationship property, and how that property should be dealt with between the parties.
